Company Name
[edit]Article says: "1995 Chloride Industries Limited renamed Exide Industries Limited". I think this needs some further explanation. They certainly won't simply give themselves the same name as another major company in the same market. What's the story behind this? What is the level of cooperation, affiliation or connection with Exide USA? --BjKa (talk) 01:28, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- There is a timeline which states that in 1960 the company's name was "Chloride Overseas, Ltd." and they were selling batteries under the name "Exide Ironclad" which was a name that The Electric Storage Battery Co. (now Exide Technologies) had trademarked in 1934: Company History - Exide Industries Ltd. Phedrence (talk) 21:55, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- An article shows that Electric Storage Battery, Co. (now Exide Technologies) had a controlling interest in Chloride Electrical Storage Co. Ltd of Manchester, England in the 1920s.
