Notes and references sections

Dear Fullstop. I agree with you that I should have left a message about why I reverted your edits here on the talk page. Here is a belated explanation: I have created hundreds of articles on musicals and light opera, some of which are now GA class or FA class. The style of headings for notes and references is a normal one that we use at WP:MUSICALS. We footnote as "notes" the inline references. Then we have a "References" section for general references. I am going to revert again to that style. If you want to discuss how these things ought to be formatted differently, why don't you join the musicals project and discuss it at our talk page. I'll take your word for it that its a WP:MUSICAL quirk. :) But whatever the rationale (is there one?), you really ought not to come up with your own layouts, particularly when (as is this case) there is nothing to be gained by it. Thats not to say there aren't uses for notes sections, but using "notes" for "references", and "references" for "further reading" isn't one of them.
