Hello @Avatar317,

I'm sorry that my edit was entirely dependent on references from the main website. I haven't done many edits in a while and I suppose I've forgotten how important 3rd party references are. I just couldn't find any other external references and found that the page was lacking many important details. Furthermore, Most of the edits for which I added the reference to the main website are, to me, unbiased statements about the company's activity. I'd really appreciate it if you gave some feedback on how the edits I made could be improved, citation wise. Cause I do believe that this info is quite relevant.

It seems that some of their campaigns get coverage in the Guardian and BBC, maybe those sites have some articles about their campaigns. You can search Google for example ["ethical consumer" site:bbc.co.uk] You could search for their campaign name or "Ethical Consumer" and see what other news articles you can find. Often I find I need to look into third or fourth pages of search results (30+ deep) before finding relevant info I'm looking for. At the same time, some of their campaigns may never become popular enough to get any any mainstream press coverage. Political advocacy groups often start lawsuits which may go nowhere, but serve to get their cause publicity, you can also search for this if it is something they do. But campaigns of theirs which don't get any coverage shouldn't be listed in Wikipedia (the self-sourced promotional issue). Hope that helps. ---Avatar317^(talk) 23:23, 9 March 2023 (UTC)

What is the subject: magazine or organization?

It is not clear what the subject of this article is. The h1 heading is italicized, as if it refers to the magazine. But the lede starts out with "Ethical Consumer Research Association Ltd (ECRA) is a British not-for-profit publisher, research, political, and campaign organisation". However, the infobox is for a magazine, one called Ethical Consumer Magazine. Under § Consumer publishing, we have "It publishes a bi-monthly print magazine, Ethical Consumer Magazine, sold via...", so that's about the org again (which publishes a mag).

The title, if not italicized, would tend to match the shortened form of the org's name as they themselves use it on their website.

So most of the artical seems to be about the organization, but then we need to de-italicize the title. We should also add the appropriate infobox, and either delete or shift downward the Infobox magazine. I'm not sure anybody's watching this page, but does anyone have suggestions about what to do? You are right; I just added the Notability tag; just glancing at the references, it seems as though there isn't one that gives a general background/biography of this organization; I didn't do a web search.

The solution here might be to put it up for deletion if there isn't more than small mention of this organization in the listed (and findable) sources. ---Avatar317^(talk) 23:48, 7 November 2025 (UTC)

I think either take the italics off the main heading or add italics to Ethical Consumer Research Association Ltd (ECRA) in the lede. I've looked at the refs and a few do go into detail about the organisation and a web search shows there is more out there, so I believe the notability template should be removed. I do not feel the infobox is adding much to the article in its current form and if it is creating confusion I support its deletion for now.LateFatherKarma (talk) 10:54, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
