Clarification of patent claim

[edit]

by Keithrwalker (talk) 16:40, 18 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

The article claims, "She holds more than 150 U.S. patents, the largest number for any woman in the United States." I am going to amend this claim because it is not true unless some of her patents were listed under a name other than Esther Takeuchi. If that is the case, provide a link to the USPTO.gov site similar to the one I am going to provide, wherein you would add an "OR" statement to the inventor name.

The woman in (and from) the United States with the most issued patents is Muriel Y. Ishikawa,[1] who as of this comment has 418 issued.[2] Esther has 146.[3]

There are other US women who have more issued patents than Esther. Victoria Wood of Livermore, California has 268[4] and Victoria Smith of Burlingame, California has 283.<ref>USPTO Utility Patent Search for Victoria Smith at Genentech
