Blenheim Palace map

The Blenheim Palace map is a printed map, drawn for a book on gardens. Should it really be included here?

Estate maps are usually much larger maps, commissioned by the estate owner, and drawn on a one-off basis. Jheald (talk) 11:18, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

I agree: the Blenheim map is certainly not what one would normally think of as an estate map, which is normally a manuscript map, drawn for the use of, or display by, the landowner. The lede image, although better, is also slightly atypical, in that it's from a bound volume, whereas I think of "real" estate maps as large maps designed for wall-hanging, or for unrolling on tables. However, I think the article does/would benefit from having two or three images, showing a variety of styles and formats – so can anyone come up with anything better? There are some possibilities on Commons Category "Estate Maps", but they are all from the National Library of Wales, and all a bit too close to the existing Tretower image. Can we perhaps find a picture of the interior of a country house, featuring a map hung on the wall? GrindtXX (talk) 14:21, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
