A skyline view of a city is often used to identify the location a television show is produced or the city associated with an interviewee. News programs, late night television, and journalistic interviews often rely heavily on establishing shots.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert uses a backdrop of Uptown Manhattan taken from Midtown.
