Proposal to trim client list from lead section

[edit]

The client list in the lead section may not meet sourcing requirements. The citations provided (e.g. WSJ, Buzzfeed) discuss sanctions and labor concerns, but do not provide independent coverage confirming Esquel's current major clients.

Per [WP:LEAD], the lead should summarize key points of the article, and per [WP:V] and [WP:UNDUE], content should be supported by reliable sources and not give undue weight. Listing specific brands without strong, current sourcing risks misleading readers and may be outdated.

I suggest trimming this from the lead unless there are recent, independent sources that establish Esquel's client base as a defining feature of the company. 203.85.79.142 (talk) 02:12, 29 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Note on sourcing for client brand list

[edit]

Leaving a brief note for future reference: the listed client brands in the History section appear to rely on sources that focus on sanctions and labor issues rather than independent confirmation of current business relationships. Flagging this here in case other editors wish to review or update the sourcing in the future (per WP:V and WP:UNDUE).

The cited sources for that part are, in fact, WP:GREL. See WP:WSJ and WP:BUZZFEEDNEWS. - Amigao (talk) 02:32, 29 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
