Erica Procunier is a Canadian composer for film and television. She is known for her work on the children's television series Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go, the documentary series Great Lakes Untamed, and the youth series Ghostwriter.

Procunier won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Original Music, Nonfiction at the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022 for the The Nature of Things documentary "The COVID Cruise".^[1] She also won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Original Music, Animation at the 12th Canadian Screen Awards in 2024 for Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go ("The Mystery at Lookout Mountain").^[2]^[3] She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for a Daytime Program for her work on the Apple TV+ series Ghostwriter at the 48th Daytime Emmy Awards in 2021.^[4] In 2025, Procunier received the SOCAN Breakout Composer Award from the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN).^[5]^[6]

Born in Sarnia, Ontario, Procunier is an alumna of the Slaight Family Music Lab at the Canadian Film Centre.^[7]

Career

Procunier has composed music for film and television, including work on the children's series Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go.^[8] She has also contributed to documentary projects, including the Smithsonian series Great Lakes Untamed.^[9]

Procunier has been involved in professional organizations supporting screen composers, including the Screen Composers Guild of Canada (SCGC), where she serves as Vice President.^[10] Her work with the organization has included participation in initiatives supporting composers and efforts to increase visibility and representation within the field, including involvement in initiatives such as the Canadian Screen Music Awards (CASMA).^[11] Her film credits include Mariner, Dam! The Story of Kit the Beaver, Don't Talk to Irene, And Now A Word From Our Sponsor, and The Dancing Dogs of Dombrova.
