Thank you for your submission! Unfortunately, your edit request is not being implemented at this time. This is because:
  1. Your citations are missing necessary information. This is noted by the red text that appears in the citation. Please add the relevant information as noted by this red text. More information on citations in Wikipedia is available at Wikipedia:Citing sources.
  2. Some or all of your sources appear not to be independent sources. You can read more on Wikipedia's policy on independent sources at Wikipedia:Independent sources.
Feel free to open another COI edit request once you've addressed these issues. Thanks. - Otherwise (Talk?) 18:33, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi Otherwise,
Here are the two edits both for the format of the date and an independent source to support the article
Independent source for Education figures:
  • HapaKenya (independent Kenyan news outlet), August 2025:
"4,404 Wings to Fly & Elimu Scholars attend Equity Group Foundation's 16th Education Congress"
This independently confirms the following figures:
  • Wings to Fly and Elimu cumulative beneficiaries: 60,009 scholars
  • Equity Leaders Program scholars across the region: 29,515
  • ELP scholars admitted to global universities: 1,098
  • Paid internships facilitated: 9,700
  • TVET scholars supported: 3,979
Proposed changes with corrected citations:
=== Overview section ===
Current text:
Through their Wings to Fly Program, Equity Group Foundation has been able to fund 37,009 students since inception.

We acknowledge that the remaining programme tables (Enterprise
Development, Food & Agriculture, Health, Energy & Environment, and
Social Protection) currently rely on the company's investor booklet.
We are continuing to source independent coverage for those figures
and will submit a follow-up request once confirmed.

Hi, I just wanted to follow up politely on our resubmission from 16 April 2026, where we provided HapaKenya as an independent source
confirming the Wings to Fly and Elimu figures. Please let us know if you need any further information. Thank you for your patience. ~~~~ MtKenyaReader (talk) 12:33, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
When trying to access the HapaKenya website, my VPN's phishing protections are activated; consequently I'm not able to access the site. That security concern was also expressed through another check of the HapaKenya site performed by the SSL/TLS Trust (see my reply post below for additional information about this check).   Edit request declined

  • I'm afraid I'm not able to access the HapaKenya website, which triggers phishing protections.
  • A check of the HapaKenya website through SSL/TLS Trust Web Check flagged the website for malware by 3 security software providers (Webroot, CRDF, and AlphaMountain).
  • The security of that website notwithstanding, the requested additions to the article seem promotional in nature. (See WP:NOBLECAUSE.)

Thank you for the feedback. We acknowledge the concerns regarding
the HapaKenya source and will replace it entirely with the
following independent sources from The Star, a well-established
Kenyan national newspaper.
Replacement independent sources for Education figures:
  • The Star (February 2026):
"Equity Bank selects 733 students for 2026 Equity Leaders Programme"
This independently confirms the following figures:
  • Equity Leaders Program university scholars to date: 10,505
  • Students admitted to top global universities including Ivy
League institutions: 1,115
  • The Star (March 2026):
"Equity Bank becomes first Kenyan bank to join Africa's top 10 – report"
This independently confirms Equity Group's financial and
brand performance figures.
Regarding the WP:NOBLECAUSE concern, we accept this feedback
and are happy to reframe any language that appears promotional
to ensure a neutral encyclopaedic tone. Specifically, we propose
revising the Overview section as follows:
Current proposed text:
Through their Wings to Fly and Elimu programs, Equity Group
Foundation has been able to fund 60,009 students since inception.Through their Wings to Fly and Elimu programs, Equity Group
This is a factual statement sourced from The Star and does not
contain promotional language. We are happy to remove any
additional language from the Focus areas tables that the editor
considers promotional.
Could you advise which specific additions are considered
promotional so we can revise accordingly before resubmitting?
Thank you for your patience. MtKenyaReader (talk) 13:55, 15 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
