Name etymology
[edit]This section has been linked at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Germany in this edit: Special:Diff/1145115149#Etymology of the Eppstein name? on 17-03-2023. --CiaPan (talk) 10:43, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
The Epstein article refers the surname to the town's name and explains its etymology. Shouldn't the etymology of the town name be included in the article about the town? --CiaPan (talk) 08:29, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Could be, if there are reliable sources for it (the Epstein article does not cite any sources that explicitly give this etymology). —Kusma (talk) 12:21, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- I dont think the town wants to be associated with a certain individual whose surname is epstein ~2026-76681-9 (talk) 09:48, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
Jewish history?
[edit]This article was added to Category:Historic Jewish communities back in 2006 - but there isn't a single word about Jewish history in Eppstein, which is astonishing given that it's the source of the Jewish surname. And there is no "History" section whatsoever. Very surprising and disappointing. I sure hope somebody will rectify these shortcomings. Anomalous+0 (talk) 22:48, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
