[edit]I deleted the sentence claimnig that E. repens "can also be found in parts of Central Europe and Western Africa." This range info is contradicted by the Epigaea page, defies ecological plausibility, and was added by a user who has been blocked since 2007 as an "adolescent vandalism-only account." If anyone finds evidence that mayflower does actually grow in Africa and Central Asia, I apologize for my rashness.
I also wonder about the claim that the petals taste like lychee berries. That tidbit of information was also added by a now-inactive user, and it's unsourced. But the flowers do certainly smell sweet, and I can imagine that they COULD taste like lychees, so I won't delete it right now. Medicinal information
