Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... The speedy deletion nomination under db-corp is not appropriate for this article. The subject's notability is established through multiple affiliated fighters who have themselves been determined notable enough for individual Wikipedia articles: Brandon Moreno (two-time former UFC Flyweight Champion), Karina Rodríguez (former Invicta FC Flyweight Champion), Michael Morales and Yazmin Jauregui (current UFC roster), plus additional UFC and Invicta veterans listed in the article. The article also has secondary source coverage from MMAjunkie, MMA Fighting, Milenio, and Clarín — all established reliable sources for MMA topics. The gym has additionally served as the venue for Ultimate Warrior Challenge Mexico events with coverage in Mexican sports media. This article clearly meets WP:NORG through association with notable affiliated athletes and independent secondary source coverage. If notability is in serious question, this should go to AfD for community discussion rather than speedy deletion. Removing the db-corp tag pending discussion. ~2026-30136-04 (talk) 19:07, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

There are no sources that mention the org in detail or provide significant coverage. They mention it in passing so it fails WP:SIGCOV. I'm happy to remove a speedy deletion and nominate this for a standard deletion process instead. But other Mexican gyms have been deleted recently for the same issue. Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... This article does not meet CSD A7 criteria. A7 requires only that the article fail to credibly indicate importance — a lower bar than notability (WP:CCS). This article credibly indicates significance through multiple verifiable assertions: Brandon Moreno (former trainee), two-time UFC Flyweight Champion, has his own Wikipedia article and is sourced via MMAjunkie. Karina Rodríguez (former), former Invicta FC Flyweight Champion, has her own Wikipedia article and is sourced via MMA Fighting. Yazmin Jauregui, Michael Morales, José Alberto Quiñónez, Silvana Gómez Juárez, Santiago Luna, Édgar Cháirez, and Cristian Quiñónez are all current UFC/MMA fighters with their own Wikipedia articles. The gym is independently documented as the venue for Ultimate Warrior Challenge Mexico events via Síntesis TV and Bajanews. Procedural note: this article was previously tagged for speedy deletion today (19 May 2026) and the tag was removed by a good-faith non-author. Per WP:CSD, a contested speedy should not be re-tagged with the same template; the proper escalation is WP:PROD or WP:AfD. Requesting that this nomination be declined and any further notability concerns be routed through the appropriate process.

Additional sources for notability evaluation

Following up on the SIGCOV concern raised above — the article's current references are admittedly weak (fighter profiles where Entram is mentioned in passing rather than the article subject). However, stronger sources exist where the gym itself is the primary subject. Sharing them here for community evaluation:

These are independent secondary sources where the gym itself is the subject of the coverage rather than a passing mention. Posting here for community use rather than editing the article directly. ~2026-30136-04 (talk) 02:38, 20 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
