Exit the Gungeon: sequel or spinoff?

[edit]

Given the announcement of Enter the Gungeon 2, is it still appropriate to call Exit the Gungeon a sequel, as both this article and Exit the Gungeon do? It does immediately follow the events of the first game as a sequel likely would, but the gameplay is notably different, especially given that the Enter the Gungeon 2 trailer suggests a largely similar gameplay format, art-style differences aside. Plus the numbering in the title seems to imply Exit the Gungeon's spinoff status. Squitor (talk) 15:10, 10 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Squitor I have rephrased the article to indicate that Exit the Gungeon is a spin-off, and that Enter the Gungeon 2 is the intended sequel. It seems that at least one source is treating Exit the Gungeon as a spin-off rather than as a full sequel . Fathoms Below (talk) 17:25, 10 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
