State of development

[edit]

I am genuinely confused about the state of LaTeXila/Gnome-Latex. Is it retired or not?

I am sure the original author made remarks that I understood as if the project was discontinued as an independent app. It was then moved to the Gnome project. I cannot find a Gnome project statement claiming its death, however. Nonetheless, the Gnome Wiki no longer points to a project in the "gnome" namespace of the gitlab, hence Gnome-Latex is probably considered no official Gnome app any longer? (Does Gnome have any other "own" LaTeX app??)

However, https://gitlab.gnome.org/swilmet/gnome-latex/-/tags looks alive and active. So did Sébastian Wilmet (the original author) take ownership (back)? Derfopps (talk) 13:33, 1 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

The project is still active and has been renamed to "Enter Tex". The change log shows that this change was done by the developer on 14 September 2024 for version 3.47: https://gitlab.gnome.org/swilmet/enter-tex/-/blob/main/NEWS CameronLP (talk) 21:53, 16 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
