A link to cutting tool coatings is needed in this article, as the descriptions of coatings are too brief and incomplete. Amclaussen.

Additions Made to the Page

[edit]

I made a few additions to the page to help clarify what an end mills purpose was because some people may have heard of end mills but don't really know what types of operations they are used for. The two sections I added was Flute Types and Types of Operations Using End Mills. Under each heading there in basic information pertaining to each heading. I made these changes to help provide people a better understanding of the different features of an endmill and when it can be used. Kyfishie4 (talk) 21:56, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Coating

[edit]

Is it worth adding the unusual colors to a table of coatings? We have already noted that the color of the coatings on carbide tools is essentially meaningless, but I don't want people to be misled by marketing. I say this because we have laid out the default colors of each coating, but a very small change in recipe can give you the iconic FIRE coating from Guhring, and the iridescent teal of Jangjin etc. with minimal change in performance.
