Unusual language

[edit]

The article reads "Most programming languages other than Perl6...". This sentence seems very unusual to me. Why specify an exception when you are already stating "most programming languages". The only way this makes sense is if 50% of languages "require the ellipsis to be written as a series of periods" and removal of Perl6 grants majority. 137.82.157.147 (talk) 02:05, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Is 2 dot ellipsis a thing?

[edit]

My understanding is that ellipsis is 3 dots. Some programming languages have a 2-dot operator, but is that an ellipsis? I think not. ... I think this is a case of classifying something after the fact; thinking that since three dots is an ellipsis and that two dots is sortof like that so let's call that an ellipsis too.
