Elizabeth was born in Wales to a noted Marcher family (The Mortimers) who were of mixed Norman- Welsh ancestry. I don't see how she could be called English instead of the correct Anglo-Welsh. Hello Jeanne. I think the concept of Anglo-Welsh is a modern one which would not have been considered by Elizabeth. She would have thought of herself as a member of the English nobility. Her place of birth would not have affected that. --Doug (talk) 08:55, 12 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
