In English?
[edit]Could we have better refs for the English term? "Election silence" seems to me to be a straight calque from other languages. Perhaps there is no widespread term and the intro should highlight this? Perhaps the title should change to a description: "Ban on campaigning and reporting before and during an election"? It's long-winded, but perhaps reflects English better. Any thoughts? Malick78 (talk) 19:52, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Removed United Kingdom
[edit]I've removed the United Kingdom from the list of countries which observe an Election Silence as this is not what the law states nor is it what the cited article states. In the United Kingdom it is illegal to broadcast or publish a prediction of results while the polls are open. Additionally there are rules on broadcasting via television or radio campaign material on election day.
