A new 14x8000 summiteer

[edit]

Pasang Namgel Sherpa reached the summit of Broad Peak today. This means he has now climbed all of the 8000 meters peaks.

Could someone please add his name to the list. 2A00:23C8:BB93:4701:75B5:C018:C73B:2277 (talk) 17:27, 27 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Two more 14x8000 climbers

[edit]

Shehroze Kashiff (Pakistan) and Adriana Brownlee (UK). They both climbed Shishapangma and thus completed all 14 of the 8000m peaks. Can someone please add their names to the list. 2A00:23C8:BB93:4701:F427:DFFF:FEAE:9C71 (talk) 23:14, 10 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

First attempt that reached over 8000 m

[edit]

I am not sure whether it's known but it would be interesting to add the first expedition that reached 8000 m or passed some significant passages on the route before the summit was reached. I know about Andrew Irvine and George Mallory who reached at least 8450 m on Mt. Everest in 1924 but I don't know whether they were the first one to achieve it. --Pan Někdo (talk) 15:13, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Update of the death table?

[edit]

The table seems very outdated (2012), should it be upgraded to a newer version like the Himalayan Database 2023 version? Breck0530 (talk) 22:44, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
