Comment: I believe this subject passes WP:CRIME due to meeting the criteria of motivation for the crime or the execution of the crime is unusual—or has otherwise been considered noteworthy—such that it is a well-documented historic event, and the fact that he still has consistent coverage from reliable sources even after so many years.

Who cares some thief was born of Ivy league graduates and is flautist. If that is the only claim to fame then literally everyone should have their own Wikipedia entry. Scraping the notable entry bottom of the barrel here.
