The photos were taken at Edwin Poot's first Gaelic football match as a guest of the Ulster Council, between Donegal and Down at Pairc Esler, Newry. Alliance Party

I read Jim Fitzpatrick's blog stating that Poots had joined the Alliance Party. I don't believe for a second that this is true. But why is it there in the first place? See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/8525488.stm

I just read Jim Fitzpatrick article. He is joking ... Here is the text .... "PS - Edwin Poots is joining the Alliance Party. He made the shock admission in the Slieve Donard Hotel following an appearance at the Northern Ireland Local Government Association conference. He claimed credit for bringing all the parties together in a common cause. Something that would make the Alliance Party proud, no doubt. The cause? Poots is still DUP Leader

Hi all. Poots is still DUP Leader, as this statement makes clear: "...Democratic Unionist Party Leader Edwin Poots MLA..." and "[t]he Party has asked me to remain in post until my successor is elected". Various editors keep adding today's date as the end date of his time in office as DUP Leader in the infobox. I'm very aware that WP:1RR is in place on this page and I've already made two edits today, so I don't want to get into trouble. Could somebody advise? Thanks. I would like to think common sense applies in situations like this, where it's a current event and well-intended but incorrect changes are made to the article. I for one would not consider filing a report for a 1RR breach under the circumstances, and I doubt most admins would act on such a report anyway. FDW777 (talk) 21:01, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
