Considering that the First Handcart Company was successful, etc. I disagree with the statement that Edmund Ellsworth's contribution was less significant than other early pioneers such as Edward Bunker whose pages are not being immediately considered for deletion. At this I agree with the statement that the article reads a little bit like an autobiography because that is my original source material. Over the next few days and weeks I am going to be learning how to bring in other links to help make this a better article with more sources, etc.
In total, Edmund Ellsworth was part of the Vanguard company of LDS pioneers, Captain of the First Handcart Company, helped settle the Salt Lake Valley and Weber County areas, helped build some of the initial bridges in the Utah Territory, and the pilings for roads both north and south from Weber County, and has descendants that are a major part of settling the Intermountain west. I think that qualifies him as at least as significant as many other pioneers.
