Current destinations

Whoever deleted the separate route tables for domestic and international routes in 2010 from Edinburgh owes me an apology. I spent considerable time cross-checking that data to make sure this was accurate. Why did someone feel the need to remove valid and interesting data in order to combine the domestic and international rankings? I can only assume to make Edinburgh Airport seem less international than it is, in which case that is extremely sad. Needs to be fixed. For example British Airways has London Heathrow as a current destination, and Ryanair has Dublin as a current destination, but someone is maliciously editing the current destinations section to remove valid, curreny destination entries. ~2026-62080-9 (talk) 22:49, 28 January 2026 (UTC)

Agree with this entirely. Very common destinations are being missed out which brings the whole article into disrepute. The fact BA to Heathrow and London City and Ryanair to Dublin have been missing for some time is proof that someone has no interest in making the article a good one, but one that is Wikipedia editors at their worse! please can someone make it better. Surely a link to their own website listing airlines and destinations is a good source? Certainly until it is deleted or a better source is found. TTFTAKM (talk) 13:31, 19 February 2026 (UTC)

The destination list is incomplete

I think this page has been wrongly edited. KLM to Amsterdam, easyJet and Ryanair to Stansted, Luton, and Gatwick, and Atlantic Airways to Vagar are all missing ~2026-67250-5 (talk) 15:35, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

They were removed some time ago because they were unsourced, and had been for some time. Reliable sources are required for content on Wikipedia. Danners430 _{tweaks made} 18:31, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

I get sources and all but this page is now insanely inaccurate. I can count of at least 15-20 missing routes.

Sources for this sort of stuff are not easy to find, particularly long established routes that have been around for decades, long before the advent of this website, or even the internet. Ie it could be impossible, so there’s a flaw that’s been entirely overlooked here. Once a route is launched, airlines usually have little reason to talk about it again, unless it gets a service uplift or is terminated.

I think we need a bit of a common sense middle ground. Ie restore the unsourced content, but make it clear it may be inaccurate.

An unsourced, but warning of inaccuracy list is surely better than what this is?

I could appreciate the policy more if it were literally a couple of things that need sourced, but it’s dozens that are missing. ScotRail02 (talk) 02:33, 13 February 2026 (UTC)

What you're advocating for is deliberately breaching WP:V, and I'm sorry but the answer will only ever be no. The best explanation isn't one I can give but rather this essay. You'd be surprised what can be found searching news articles - even years after a route is launched, occasionally a newspaper or magazine will write about an airline at an airport, and at the bottom of the article they'll mention something like "Airline X also flies to Foo, Bar and Timbucktoo from Airport A." So how come the history section has countless unverified sections with requests for citations? Isn’t this also breaching WP-V?
