Apologies about the mess

[edit]

I am still learning how to make Wikipedia pages. So far I have found a lot of information about Ed Husic from the Union side of things, which I shall add shortly. Timeoin (talk) 09:51, 8 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've removed cite needed for the only point which could possibly qualify him as "notable" - being candidate doesn't count. Husic is a National President of a major Australian union, has run twice for parliament, and his cultural background attracted significant media attention during the 2004 Federal election when he ran for Greenway. It's more than likely that Husic will win in the safe seat of Chifley in a few weeks time; and, at that point in time, this page would need to be established. I do admit, however, that it's a litle premature to insert the MP box, etc. I've tried to make the page as much at possible WP:NPOV and less like an ALP advert. There are no links to his ALP campaign page. Jherschel (talk) 03:09, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Full name

[edit]

Ed Husic's full name is Edham Nurredin Husić. Yet this article only refers to his known name. What is the naming convention? Should his full name be used and abbreviated to reflect his known name? Jherschel (talk) 12:52, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Edham Nurredin "Ed" Husic. I'll fix it up. Frickeg (talk) 12:53, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Thought as much. Cheers Jherschel (talk) 13:00, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Describing himself as "non-practising"

[edit]

Recently on the 7:30 report (26/8/10), Ed Husic specifically said that he does not describe himself as a 'non-practising' Muslim. This should be changed, but I'm not sure how. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.203.115.194 (talk) 19:07, 26 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

-- Does it really matter. Is the fact he's a muslim REALLY the most interesting thing people can come up with about him? 121.45.254.70 (talk) 15:37, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Font bench?

[edit]

If Husic is Parliamentary Secretary to the PM, how can he be a front bencher? He isn't a minister.203.184.41.226 (talk) 07:25, 4 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Involvement with IT Price Inquiry

[edit]

Ed Husic is notable for his involvement in the IT price inquiry - investigating why Aus pays more for IT software. -- I don't have time to confirm details: can someone add this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.208.192.192 (talk) 01:08, 17 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
