Wildlife of Ecuador

I've been studying countries of the world. I've covered all of Africa and Asia, now doing South America. So far, almost every country has a "Wildlife of..." page, either included in the main country page, or linked form "Geography of..." But Ecuador does not. Seems odd, given the high biodiversity of Ecuador. It does have a biodiversity section, but I think there is much more that could be covered on a Wildlife page, as is the case for other tropical countries. Monitary system edits

I live here in ecuador and wanted to mention the part about the money adaptaion is somewhat incompleat. I don't know exactly how to expain or refrence what all I am trying to say here so excuse me if this is a bit stream of concious.

First off, Yes Ecuadors Currency writ-large is the USD we have all the bills just like the U.S. Howerver in change we have two fully interchangable options.

We have US minted coins (.01,.05,.25,.50,$1) and Ecuadorian coins. The coins are the same denominations and roughly the same dimentions but with diffrent graphics, we lack a unique Dollar, as far as I know. Someone please check me on that though.

Then as far as describing the coins, they have a bust depiction of the diffrent Presidents on the face next to a small National Coat of Arms crest next to them the upper edge is arcked with "REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR" and the bottom with the name of the figure depected flaked by two 5 pointed stars to either side of the name (eg. ** JORGE ICAZA ** (for a recent .25c peice )) . While the reverse has the denomination in digits (eg. 25) with the production year in smaller font to the left of them with a series of incan inspired(?) lines running under and behind the digits. A written denomination fallows a simicircle arced along the bottom (eg. VENTICINCO CENTAVOS") and "BANCO CENTRAL DEL ECUADOR" arced alonge the top.

I could potentially provide images of fronts and backs of a few coins if it would help the article.

Though they have largly been phased out, you will occasionally still see old Sucre bills and coins but as time progresses they are becoming fewer and further between and something of a hobby collection for some people. Those coins and bills are not accepted anymore but natureally have historical significanse for some of the people who live here.

Thank you for your comment. I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for. The article on the coins, Ecuadorian centavo coins, is linked in the infobox. Do you just want that information added in when discussing the currency in the text of the article? Would something like, The U.S. Dollar has been the only official currency of Ecuador since then, with Ecuadorian centavo coins circulating alongside USD.
