"Worthwhile to mention he was an excommunicated memeber of the sect to which he later persecuted. Disagreements in doctine are what lead him to author his book." I moved this comment by User:128.210.168.88 from the article to the talk page. Bochica 01:34, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's possible that you may be thinking of Doctor Philastus Hurlbut, who was an excommunicated member who turned against the church and helped create much of the content of the book Mormonism Unvailed. I'll check it further, but I don't think that Howe actually ever had anything to do with the church.Bochica 01:34, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
