i'm probably a dolt, but i don't understand the Doomsday Book reference. what's that? also, the last two external links are not useful references for this article. Weakmassive 00:19, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

I very much doubt if you are a dolt! The Domesday Book is... well, why not read the article. If you tried to find it and failed it's because the spelling was wrong (though it's pronounced like 'Doom'). Chris Jefferies 23:32, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Population 2020

An anonymous editor has quoted the 2020 population. Could that person provide a source, please? (I hate putting citation needed in the face of the article, but it can't stay as it is.) Afterbrunel (talk) 15:13, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

White Horse in Nickleby???

There are a few hairy assertions in this article. I can't find any reference to the White Horse in Nicholas Nickleby, for example. Afterbrunel (talk) 15:44, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

I notice in the article there is a picture included of the blue plaque on the pub, which claims "Charles Dickens, in his novel 'Nicolas Nickleby', has Wackford Squeers dining with his pupils at Eton Slocomb on their way north." I found the reference in chapter five (text is available online) but there doesn't seem to be a specific mention of the pub. Perhaps the article can be amended to say that the White Horse claims to be the Eton Slocomb inn mentioned in Nicholas Nickleby? Schnitzi (talk) 13:04, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Can somebody fix the template please
