I do not understand why there are articles about these topics.

  • Arbitrary categorization: Why are certain provinces included and others excluded?
  • Usefulness: I think people using wikipedia to learn about Iran will use the main Iran page, and find out the specific demographic/climate/etc from there. If readers want more granular information, they can look for a specific province.
