errors in citations of discovery
[edit]Hello everyone. I believe that this sentence "First discovered in 1984,[2] the compartment was first defined as the location within the cell of the mannose-binding membrane lectin called ERGIC-53.[3]" is incorrect. I have found the real first published report of a VTC (which was actually named a TVC) identified by an antibody to what became known as ERGIC-53, and those authors do not cite any paper from 1984. I will change the sentence to "The cluster was first identified in 1988 using an antibody to the protein that has since been named ERGIC-53" with the correct citation.
