This article would benefit from revision on a couple of points.

  1. The "available structure" in the box at top right of page is not relevant to the mammalian ERCC4 gene. It is a structure of Rad1 from S. pombe, a PCNA-like protein with a completely different function. There are several structures available now for ERCC4, one of these should be substituted.
  2. The article has been hijacked by paragraphs and figures at the end of the text concerning ERCC1-XPF in the colon, essentially an advertisement for two specialized publications that are not relevant to the fundamentals of ERCC4. Heavy editing to shorten this section is needed.

I plan to work on these sections during the next few weeks, unless someone else would like to take it on. HumDNARepair (talk) 21:49, 1 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
