There is no sign of Ron Flockhart and ERA R4D on the cover of Motor Sport in 1953. I've also checked 1952 and 1954. The nearest I can find is Michael Christie in an ERA on the cover of June 1954 Motor Sport at Prescott. Don't think same car? Rupertlt (talk) 12:39, 8 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

An achievement of R4D in the post-war era is that it has won the Brighton Speed Trials seven times, driven by Raymond Mays four times and Ken Wharton three times, more wins than any other car at this event. Rupertlt (talk) 13:27, 8 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Owner after Wharton was the pseudonymous "T. Dryver," creator of the aero-engined De Havilland-M.G. Special. He raced the ERA in the Brighton Speed Trials in 1957 but his chance of achieving another F.T.D. was spoiled by rain. Rupertlt (talk) 13:45, 8 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
