Overall: Article new and long enough. Significant amounts of unsourced material. Large swathes of peacock-type purple prose verging on the obviously promotional, with lots of repetition. Thanks for the detailed review. I've gone through the article and made substantial changes to address the issues you raised. I toned down the wording, rewrote the lead and all the main sections, and added citations throughout. I'd appreciate it if you could have another look when you have a chance.

Your edits were improvements; I have further edited the article to reduce duplication and improve the article quality. Thanks for catching that. You were right — I had overstated the figures. I've now corrected the article to reflect the data reported by Turkalo et al. (2013): 3,128 individual forest elephants identified over a 20-year study, and I've updated the hook accordingly.
