How to document product cycles for crowdfunded companies?
[edit]The decades of releases from creators like Dwarven Forge have lots of details of importance to collectors. When was it offered? When did it get to buyers? How popular a release was it compared to others? Which features were added in which releases?
This stuff is all still accessible in the Kickstarter campaign page, easily accessed from the creator's Kickstarter profile, BUT we can't use that as the citation because Wikipedia blacklists linking to Kickstarter (for I seriously have no doubt very wise reasons of spam reduction).
So how do we cite this stuff when things like the collector wiki can be less accurate than the actual campaign and its updates? MetaGrrrl (talk) 00:50, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
Yes, the DF Fan Collector Wiki is an imperfect source but it is a starting point
[edit]Noting the link to that wiki timeline here since it was used in getting a first cut up of the 20+ year table of releases. Where I was able to cross-reference between it and the actual campaigns and updates to backers, it was accurate with only one or two minor exceptions (relating to date things really shipped out, iirc).
