Dural ectasia
[edit]There is a book, a journal, about Karen Shettler Paddock. Dural ectasia was found upon autopsy. She had such severe cerebrospinal fluid leaks with frequent intractable head pain that she took her life; she hung herself with her dog's leash. Her journal is now required reading at Duke!

To determine if there is a connection between idiopathic bronchiectasis and connective tissue disorders, this study will look to see if dural ectasia is more common in patients with idiopathic bronchiectasis, as compared to patients of bronchiectasis of known causes and patients without bronchiectasis.

I am a patient NOT diagnosed (yet) with any connective tissue disorder. However, I have frequent bronchitis. I have Dural ectasia and Tarlov cyst in the sacrum. I have a Hiatal hernia, osteoarthritis, cervical spondylosis, cord impingement at C5-6 and T6-7 along with herniated discs at those levels, occipital neuralgia, left shoulder adhesive capsulitis, lumbar spondylosis, herniated lumbar disc and L3 nerve root impingement.
I am short; 5'1" so I don't "fit" the criteria for Marfan, and unfortunately internet searches seem to all associate dural ectasia with Marfans. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.234.41.175 (talk) 16:59, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
