Hello, in the Duolingo app, as for the new course inside "For Spanish speakers," there is no Guarani language to learn yet; please remove it in this article. ~2026-36014-1 (talk) 12:03, 17 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want made. Day Creature (talk) 16:27, 17 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Edit request: Update Duolingo Chess section (COI disclosed)

[edit]

Disclosure: I am an employee of Duolingo. Per Wikipedia's COI and paid editing guidelines, I am proposing these changes here rather than editing directly.

I'd like to suggest the following updates: The initial rollout sentence. (the 'planned for iOS by May' phrasing is outdated since it's already happened) The chess section currently states "At launch, users are not able to play against each other," which is no longer accurate. The addition of a sentence on number of daily active users. Happy to provide additional/different sources or adjust anything. Thank you!

−
Duolingo introduced[[chess]] lessons in beta on April 22, 2025, with an initial rollout planned for iOS in English by May. The lessons are structured around the [[Elo rating system]], gradually increasing in difficulty to match the user's skill level. Learners can play mini-matches or full games against Duolingo's virtual chess coach, Oscar, whose difficulty also scales with progress. At launch, users are not able to play against each other.

Done It looks like someone else made interval updates to that section, and I incorporated some of the additional information above. Best, SpencerT•C 05:29, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have removed some of the sources used for the recent changes, as they do not appear reliable. The sources proposed by the COI editor are, if anything, even worse. Grayfell (talk) 06:21, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Maori is not available

[edit]

in the opening paragraph it says "...to less commonly studied languages such as Hawaiian, Māori, and Navajo..." Maori is not available on Duolingo. ~2026-29402-61 (talk) 03:36, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

change "Duo has gained a significant reputation in memes" to "Duo has become a well-known internet meme" for readibility Knightdan24 (talk) 04:18, 2 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Partly done: I agree that the sentence was clunky, and since it essentially said the same thing as the preceding sentence, I removed it. More concerning is that the claim is not backed by the existing source, so I also added a {{cn}} tag. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 14:57, 2 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Duolingo brand characters

[edit]

I think the article needs more brand characters. At the moment, the article focuses on Duo but Duolingo Inc. has several other brand characters that are a part of its branding. If reliable sources exist about them, I think they should be added to the article. Furbchess (talk) 14:19, 21 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
