Suspected COI, and membership changes

[edit]

I think this article is probably damaged by conflict of interest (written or edited by the performers, or someone working on their behalf). An editor with no COI would be unlikely to write in such a strange way (i.e. omitting information to supposedly protect someone's reputation).

If one member of a band is replaced, it may be "business as usual", depending on the size and type of the band. But pretending it's "business as usual" to replace half of a siblings piano duo – saying nothing about it, as if this happens all the time – is really silly.

Did Martin Caron make a career decision that his time would be better spent in arranging and composing (or retirement, or anything else)? Did something happen to him that makes it difficult for him to play? Is there a disagreement that prevents the first duo from working together? Whatever the reason may be, even if it's unpleasant, the shame of having to keep pretending that nothing happened is worse. TooManyFingers (talk) 15:04, 21 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

I've written a user-page note to an editor who might have a conflict of interest. Hopefully that's all it takes to resolve it. The article itself should be easy to fix, but I'll leave it alone until the potential COI is no longer an issue. TooManyFingers (talk) 16:47, 21 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your comment. This isn't a conflict of interest or an absurd attempt to protect anyone. The article was simply expanded following the duo's website republishing the announcement of the final recording with the new member. Rather, it was a lack of information regarding this change. After extensive research, it turns out that Martin Caron had, as you suggest, changed careers to devote himself more to composition, with the approval of the replacement without bitterness.
I hope these answers will be satisfactory. Regards Likeabluesun (talk) 23:59, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Likeabluesun No, these answers are not satisfactory at all. Please explain why you think you do not have a conflict of interest. TooManyFingers (talk) 00:09, 1 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
