paranormal research

[edit]

There are lots of photographs of one of the school's sports teams but nothing that I could find about its long-running paranormal research (now separated from the univeristy); Duke University Library Exhibits | About the Exhibit · Early Studies in Parapsychology at Duke Kdammers (talk) 18:12, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Fake accusation of racism

[edit]

I notice that the blatantly false accusation of racist abuse made by one of the Duke University Women's Volleyball team players is conspicuous by its absence. Is this because you cannot find a sufficiently left-wing website that has covered the incident?PortholePete (talk) 10:39, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wrong seal

[edit]

The seal used in the info box is not the normal one used by Duke. For example, see this photo of Baldwin Auditorium, a building on Duke's East Campus. 2603:6081:1500:32B8:3997:6024:B8C4:69C2 (talk) 05:36, 10 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

The Duke University Bluedevils Mascot

[edit]

William H. Lander, and Bradshaw wrote the newsletter for the Trinity Chronicle. Though there is little evidence to support this, they were Quakers, and opposed slavery. They likely created the nickname Bluedevils as opposed to Reddevils or just devils as an allusion to the Union, the North, and generally, in opposition to Confederate sympathizers. The best and most logical support for this is that the University of North Carolina Tar Heels mascot references the fighting spirit of the North Carolina regiment during the Civil War. New photo

I've taken and uploaded some new photos of Duke's campus, including two photospheres. Feel free to incorporate them into coverage of the university as you wish. Cheers, Sdkbtalk 04:35, 19 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
