  • ... that the bird keeper of Duck Island Cottage was also tasked with maintaining bomb disposal equipment?

  • Reviewing ...
  • Article is long enough and new enough
  • No copyright problems found by Earwig
  • Sources all look to be WP:RS and properly cited in-line.
  • The use of the future tense ("William III would order the construction ...") is odd. See WP:WOULD for an essay on this. It's not a violation of the DYK critera, so it won't affect this nomination, but still something that should be addressed at some point.
  • Nominator is QPQ exempt.
  • Immage appears to be appropriately licensed.
  • The big problem is the hook. I see that Mandarax already commented on the length and you did bring it down to just barely squeak by the 200-character upper limit, but the goal of DYK is short catchy hooks. You should be aiming for something about half the length of what you have now. You want to concentrate on one particularly interesting fact, not try to fit as much in as you can while staying within the compulsory upper limit. RoySmith (talk) 12:52, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your review. I have made the recommended modifications to the article and hook. RanulfLampard (talk) 13:19, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hook approved. For future reference, the preferred way to update a hook is to create one or more alternates, as was done in Template:Did you know nominations/Complete Bible in Inuktitut. That makes it easier to keep track of changes as a nomination progresses. This is good to go, just something to keep in mind for your next one. RoySmith (talk) 13:43, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
