Terrigno Law Suit

[edit]

The section Terrigno Law Suit of the article contains the following:

I don't see what this has to do with Farrell. There are <ref>s to two newpaper articles in the Calgary Herald, but neither mentions Farrell. My inclination is to delete the part of the section quoted above. What do others think? 165.140.231.19 (talk) 16:40, 2 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Wow, that whole section is a mess. I think the text you quote above is background for the lawsuit, but I agree it's unnecessary detail. I'm also concerned about the Stampede section after that; is that issue also included in the 2017 lawsuit? Why is it mentioned in this section? And the last sentence, The case and two appeals were all dismissed. Was there only the one case? Or did the Terrignos sue Farrell multiple times? What decisions were appealed? Who appealed?
I agree with the proposed deletion, but I'd suggest reading the cited sources and rewriting the rest of that section to be clearer.

User:Morbidthoughts has done the work. Here are the primary sources for the case and two appeals in case anybody has the skill to read them:
  • Court of King’s Bench of Alberta (2023-03-22). "Terrigno v Farrell, 2023 ABKB 170". CanLII.
  • Court of Appeal of Alberta (2023-11-09). "Terrigno v Farrell, 2023 ABCA 323". CanLII.
  • Court of Appeal of Alberta (2019-11-06). "Terrigno Investments Inc v Farrell, 2019 ABCA 426". CanLII.
