Sam Hyde's prank Ted Talk seems to be notable enough in popular culture for it to be mentioned in the "in popular culture" section on Drexel University. Given how it changed the perception of Ted Talks for millions of people, I would say it certainly had a lasting impact. Many people associate Drexel University with that talk.
