In the end who owns Dreamworks Records?
[edit]so i dont get it.... dreamworks records is owned by MCA, which is owned by Universal Music, which is owned by Vivendi Universal.... but Dreamworks films is owned by Viacom? Im confused.
- Dreamworks Records is now defunct, but the name is owned by Universal Music, as Dreamworks sold the label to them because it was failing as a business. Universal tried making it a country label but that failed as well. I would guess that Geffen sold the record label to Universal/MCA because they already owned his old label Geffen Records.
- Dreamworks SKG itself was later bought by Viacom. These were two separate deals, but both add up to Dreamworks (with the exception of the still-independent animation unit) being unable to compete with the media comglomerates that it broke off from and wass eventually sold to. Official website??
[edit]If this label is defunct, how come there is an "official website"? It is a link to Interscope Records/A&M Records. Is this in any way related to DreamWorks? --Entoaggie09 02:59, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
