Merge

After looking for sources, I have not been able to find anything to expand it using reliable sources. As such, I think we should merge any relevant content to the main article. - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 10:34, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

There are sources in regards to Dragon Hopper. I actually do plan on improving the article in the future but even if the page gets deleted for said reason, i'll resurrect Dragon Hopper's Wikipedia article from the ground up.Roberth Martinez (talk) 14:26, 7 September 2019 (UTC)

I'm having trouble finding a reliable source on its reveal, @KGRAMR:. I had to remove 1morecastle as I believe it's a user-submitted article and they don't have an apparent editorial policy. Do you know if you can find alternate sources? - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 19:50, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

Dragon Hopper → D-HopperD-Hopper – This is a cancelled game that is now finally officially releasing in 2026. However, Nintendo changed the name of the game for this release. Since "Dragon Hopper" now is just the old name that was never used for a released game, with "D-Hopper" being used for an official release, I believe there is no good reason to keep it named Dragon Hopper. WP:COMMONNAME might be a common counter-argument, but sources have already begun to call it D-Hopper, since that is now the name of an upcoming title.

There doesn't seem to be any logo on the title screen in the preview footage, so that's unlikely to be the deciding factor. Also worth noting, the Japanese trailer uses the name Dragon Hopper (ドラゴンホッパー, Doragonhoppā) rather than Jump Dragon (ジャンプドラゴン, Janpu Doragon), so that will need to be adjusted as well. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 18:51, 27 January 2026 (UTC)

Comment: The fact the game is now called Dragon Hopper in Japanese (instead of Jump Dragon) does create a strange case where COMMONNAME and the official title in one region still technically align. I can see a world where the lead refers to it as "Dragon Hopper, released as D-Hopper internationally", solely because that's the name used in most of the currently cited sources, but I do think we'll need to wait at least three weeks to see how things shake out with the sources leading up to and immediately following release. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 19:33, 27 January 2026 (UTC)

Oppose as too soon. "D-Hopper" was only a caption in a trailer. No official title or logo was shown, and the fact that the Japanese trailer used the caption "Dragon Hopper" is enough to say let's just wait until it releases and reassess then. TarkusAB^talk/contrib 22:24, 27 January 2026 (UTC)

Comment: I saw reports that the name change was a result of the trademark currently being used for a different video game under the same name. So it seems like D-Hopper is going to be the official name of this 2026 release as a result. That said it is too soon to change this article name but maybe in the future that will change.
