Carib Villages

By 1903, Edward VII was on the throne, so the special status of the villages cannot have been granted by "the British Queen". In any case, British monarchs don't rule, they reign.

The reservations were either devised by the Colonial Office or, more likely, the local Governor, Administrator or District Officer.

It would be interesting to read more on the history of the Carib people and the Nineteenth Century "black" government of the island, rather than Dominica's hum-drum life as yet another British colony, in the Twentieth Century.

Impossibility

"This special Carib Territory was granted by the British Queen in 1903" - but that's impossible, as the Queen then was Queen Alexandra, who had no involvement. Did it happen under Edward VII, or earlier under Queen Victoria? P.M.Lawrence.

Names of those historically in charge ?

Normally, articles on other British Colonies give a List of the Governors / Administrators, which this article lacks. I want to know who it was on 19 March 1964 - was it a man called Lovelace ? If so, anything more about him ? First name ? ClayRobin (talk) 19:27, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
