The sentence about Logan's Run and Captain Kirk is not a proper sentence, but I've never seen either of the referenced movies (or shows?) and I can't easily make it right. The "Like in Logan's Run" thing is never explained and it sounds like James T. Kirk destroyed a robot in Logan's Run.
"Does Not Compute" was used by one of the robots in one of the recent Star Wars prequels -- I believe Episode I. This might need mention.
I know I'm lazy for not fixing it myself, don't bother to tell me. I just figure it's better to say something than not.

Commentary
[edit]I deem this article very informative and entertaining. I was doing research on cognitive dissonance and found my way here to "Does Not Compute". This article was a valuable illustration of cognitive dissonance for me. Nevertheless, I don't think this content should be included within the wiki cognitive dissonance article. The present link to this article is just fine.
Simpsons
[edit]There is an episode of The Simpsons in which Homer goads a doll made by Lisa with illogical statements causing it to explode while repeating "Does not compute". Or was it Homer that said the words? It probably should be here as it is better known than many of the other examples. There may be other episodes, too, where the phrase is used. Anyone remember? - Found it! Trilogy of Error from season 12, though I can't remember if Linguo actually says "Does not compute". There is definately an episode in which Homer says that he wants to goad a computer into saying "Does not compute" and then explode, though, and one in which Marge argues with a robot that says "Does not compute" but then modifies it with "Well Ok it does compute a little". I'll research these and get back. The article does need alot of tidying, anyway, as tagged!Jubilee♫clipman 00:02, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
