Moving plagiarised material present for over a decade, tagged for over 4 years, to Talk

[edit]

This article has stood without a citation, since 2005, its first populating/ It has been tagged as being without a source for 4 years/

It is rich with dates, statistics, etc. This is plagiarism, pure and simple, even if it is not a simple cut-and-paste. It is a repeat, bald-faced, clear violation of WP:VERIFY.

A stub is left in place to serve as the lede, so the article can grow back into being a full article. Please source that, and begin returning material, from here, to the article as you find the material in a source, and check it against that source. (The, the article will comply with encyclopedia policy.)

Because of the immediate reversions, I have taken this to the highest level, for an opinion. Please be patient and wait for outside replies. And at least try to honour the fact that my action is policy compliant; the presence of a whole plagiarised article is not.

Tommy Holmes

[edit]

I changed the reference to Tommy Holmes as Walker's teammate in 1945. Holmes played for the Boston Braves.70.174.156.175 (talk) 11:19, 4 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Walker a loyal Robinson supporter?

[edit]

It's true that Dixie Walked vocally opposed allowing Jackie Robinson to play in the major leagues. From what I read, though, it didn't take him and the other long to warm up to Robinson, and Walker eventually became one of his most loyal teammates. 2602:FE43:0:332D:80E6:2021:B752:673B (talk) 13:52, 8 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
