The definition is incomplete

The article only describe divisions polynomial in the context of Schoof algorithm, but actually the notion is defined for any model of elliptic curves, not just short Weierstrass form. Also they are normally defined as bivariate polynomials over the definition field, instead of multivariate by including the model coefficient which is less natural. 82.244.80.154 (talk) 21:39, 14 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Torsion over finite field doesn't imply degree

The text has a paragraph about how the size of the l-torsion in GF(p), being l^2,l or 1, implies the degree is one of three appropriate choices. While the three choices are correct, the implication, on its own, isn't - the roots could have had multiplicities 2001:15C2:10:220:C0FF:543B:833F:B978 (talk) 07:39, 9 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
