Other dithizone uses

EPA 1980 Environmental test publication had a Chromium(+6) vs Chromium(+3) test using dithizone. Gold prospectors bought it because they believed it provided a simple color change with gold and gold chalconides' surfaces. TaylorLeem (talk) 21:50, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

I found something (not something I'd consider a reliable reference) about using Dithizone as a quick qualitative test for the presence of heavy metals. It's a bit old fashioned but quick, simple, visible color change. RJFJR (talk) 14:19, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
