Could someone explain in what sense the meter is the SI standard unit for displacement vectors? The meter is obviously the SI standard for measuring the distance component of the vector, but isn't the radian or something the SI standard for measuring the direction component?

The meter is in itself a scalar, not a vector. It is therefore the unit for the magnitude (length) of a vector, not its direction -TD

Disambig or set index?

The way this page is currently written it seems not really to be a disambiguation page, as nearly all the links are completely unambiguous - they just share the word displacement as part of the title. For it to remain a disambig page, really all of those should be removed; otherwise it should become a "list of displacement-related concepts" page. I think WP:SETINDEX covers this to some extent. Linguistic 'Displacement' needs expansion

The linguistic definition of displacement needs expansion into an article of its own. The current definition is vague and does not deal with displacement as a device of grammatical deviation within literary and poetic texts
