[edit]

For disk staging we need to create a separate policy.

This pages appears to be the definition of a single term and should either be expanded or folded into another page. -- 207.103.85.62 18:34, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

[edit]

Staging (data) and this article appear to be on identical, or very similar topics. I think it would be less confusing for folks if these two were merged. If staging is handled differently in Data warehousing than in other disciplines of IT, for example, those differences can be discussed in a section of this article.

Would not be good; apparent similarity is down to lack of content

[edit]

Merging Disk Staging and Staging (data) into a Staging page with parts per type would be like merging Cat and Dog into a Pet page with parts per type; different things, different pages. Right now Disk Staging and Staging (data) look similar because there isn't enough information in each to describe the subjects in depth. I'm sure that a disk nerd could put together 10 A4s on disk staging, and I know that our DBA could throw down 4 A4s in the pros and cons of different aspects of Staging (data); just need to find people willing to author the information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.186.240.40 (talk) 02:15, 1 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
