Discussion group has to be redirect to Focus group

[edit]

It was traditionally a face-to-face technique. According to authors and disciplines, some of them call it Discussion group and others Focus group. Both could be developed by virtual means as discussion forum, chat, VoIP, videoconference, etc. Discussion forum is also called virtual forum, discussion board, message board and is not a technique but a tool that could be used for several purposes, including discussing but not especially. Teachers, trainers, and professors who use them know that Discussion forums ("fora") are usually used for many purposes as answering to students' questions about contents, realising verbal activities, or orienting students in procedures or decisions. I think that the real definition as it is formulated at this moment is confusing and transmits a virtual approach of the Discussion group that limits and changes its actual, traditional sense in practice. --Tfeliz (talk) 23:02, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bulletin boards and Internet forums

[edit]

The article contains: "The term discussion group encompasses web-based forums, bulletin boards, listservs, electronic mailing lists, and newsgroups." However, Internet forum makes no distinction between the first two ("An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages."). --Chealer (talk) 06:45, 12 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Changing Discussion group to Online discussion group

[edit]

Another solution could be changing the title: from Discussion group to Online discussion group. Discussion group is much more connected to Focus group that could be virtual or face-to-face. --Tfeliz (talk) 22:18, 18 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

ICR (disambiguation needed) should be IRC (Internet Relay Chat)
